Crandell Theatre

Crandell Theatre exteriorMost of FilmColumbia's films are screened at Crandell Theatre, located at 46-48 Main Street in Chatham, NY. The Crandell Theatre is Columbia County's oldest and largest theatre. An architectural gem, the Crandell has remained basically unchanged since built in 1926 by Walter S. Crandell, as a vaudeville house.

The theatre seats 534 patrons, with 112 of the seats in the balcony. The stage is 26 feet wide and 13 feet deep. The Crandell has a large concession stand, with approximately 40 different selections. Popcorn is popped daily on the premises.

Crandell Theatre interiorThe last Sunday of every month at 2:30pm, The Chatham Film Club presents an independent or foreign film at Crandell Theatre. Click here for a list of upcoming (and past) screenings.

Throughout the year, the Crandell Theatre shows first run films. Admissions are just $4.00 for an adult and $3.00 for a child under 12.
